August 30th 2008
We were asked to do a small showcase at
the Hip Hop Soda Shop and what can we say about this club? Good music
and good times!!! Team PROFILE arrived the only way we know how; with
lights flashing and engines roaring. We were reserved in their VIP area
for the night. Amazing DJs with a mix of
live performances made for good entertainment. Definitely a place
to go if you want a night out without any drama. Everyone in the Hip Hop
Soda Shop seemed to get along peacefully. A very laid back vibe with the
party atmosphere made for a night to remember. Rivtor Media made an
appearance with cameras flashing, making the night feel like a Rock
Star's playground. The outside patio made for a quieter setting and the
cool night air
helped sober up from high of lights, bodies and booze. All in all, Team
PROFILE had a blast and can't wait until the next event! -Romeo/TP |

What can be said about the JDM Ups "Little Tokyo Night Show"? In one
word, INSANITY! Never in my life have I seen so many cars gathering in
one place for one event!!! There were clearly close to a thousand cars
there! If you could imagine your local Super Wal-mart's parking lot
filled to about 98% to it's capacity, THAT'S what this show was like! I
think it was the type of response that any organization dreams of
getting to one of their functions. There were all types of cars there as
well, it wasn't JUST JDM! We saw everything from your everyday Honda
Civic to your exotic Lamborghini Murcielago, Stock to extreme installs,
all flavors of vehicles were present! People were organizing meets in
all the nearby counties just to go to this event! We can all hope to
host an event such as this! Good job guys, can't wait for the next
one!!! -TP |

And again, the Tampa weather doesn't let up for the car enthusiasts. Cobretti, Romeo and Papo
headed out to Peabody's off of Bruce B. Downs for a
very wet event hosted by
TunerLifestyleTV.com. TLTV is an up & coming online tuner magazine which
will feature Car Clubs from all over and there will also be online car
shows every month but instead of trophies the winners will be winning
prizes. The site is chuck full of videos and pictures of clubs and
tuners they've come across. Dex, the creator of the site said he's
looking to feature the small time guys which sounds good to this tuner!

It was boasted as a show for charity and that's exactly what it was NOT (when it
came to car owners looking to win a trophy). Unless you owned a shop or
had about $20,000 to spend on your car there was no way you were going
to place in the top 3 at this show. Not to mention that the MC knew each
winner by first AND last names. But regardless of the shady judging at
this show it was definitely for a good cause. The proceeds went to
military vets and active military personnel. The lot was chuck full of
old school American Muscle and new school off the wall creations.
Fun was had none-the-less! -Romeo/TP |

HCSO's District 3 held another "P.A.R.T.Y in the Park" event. With ball
crawls and bounce houses, the kids at this event were having fun for
hours. The children also had the opportunity to see Police horses up
close and even sat inside of Tampa Police Department's SWAT tank.
WiLD
98.7 supplied the music and Team Profile members, Romeo, Jr., Cobretti
and Hector supplied the OOHs & AHHs!!! Team Profile was invited to other
events coming in the near future and WiLD was approached through one of
their Street Teamers to attend the soon-to-be-here Team Profile Show!
All-in-all, the day was fun and filled the team members with pride from
all the admiration coming from the children whom we went to impress!
Thanks to the HCSO and TPD for the invite! -TP |

On this
rainiest of days a few brave souls decided to go to
"Jake's Hamburgers"
Sundown Showdown show! At $10 to register along with a free
cheeseburger, they had definite drawing power with the exception of the
RAIN! Jake's Hamburgers served up one of the BEST burgers we've tasted
in a long time! The juicy, high-stacked, hand-made burgers are a
throw-back to the weekend BBQ's at your favorite uncle's house! Like my
son said "These burgers are better than at McDonald's OR Burger
King!!!". Team members Romeo, Cobretti, and Shawn registered for the
show. Mike was there for support as always...THANKS BRO! We even had
a cameo appearance from Lala, thanks ma! Romeo once again took home
"Best Truck" and Cobretti took home "Most Original". And the winning
continues........ -TP |

Team
Profile was stretched thin on this busy day. First up was the Boba show
hosted by D2G... with much respect to Niko of D2G the show was a bit
lack-luster and understandably so. On the exact date we also had another
show hosted by Street Alliance. The Boba show was in an unfortunate
location where most people couldn't distinguish between patrons of the
ultra hip Boba shop and those participating in a show. The Street
Alliance show on the other hand stood out HARD, with music blaring, a
massive amount of vehicles and a definite feeling of competition. Team
Profile members came out victorious winning Best Import (Cobretti), Best
Lighting (Nene) and a second place for best Truck (Romeo). Thank you to
the Street Alliance guys for a GREAT show!!!! Also, the professional
video taken at the Yan-Ra album release event was published by 3 Studios Production,
check it out right HERE!!! -TP |

Team
Profile members attended first Boba car meet organized by
D2G Customz. Boba is the site of
next week's car show (see details on our Events/Car Shows section).
International Boba House is a cross
between an Ice Cream shop and a Starbucks. They make delicious slushes
which come in all conceivable flavors like Banana or Avocado, for
instance. It also offers lounge-style seating areas which allows for
good conversation or even a game of chess (as some were having last
night), they have two 50" plasma TVs connected to X-Box 360s where you
can catch a good game of Halo or Guitar Hero 3 (play time is timed as
long as you're a purchasing customer). They also offer WiFi connectivity
and desktop computers which are located in the rear of the shop. The
atmosphere is conducive with a sophisticated college crowd |
|
Cont.
due to
Boba's proximity to USF. Overall, ample parking, cool drinks, good games
and a Pizza shop right next door makes Boba House an ideal spot for D2G
Customz' Friday night car meets, nice job Niko!
What exactly IS Boba? Bubble tea also known as Boba, is
a tea beverage that originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. The literal
translation from Chinese would be pearl milk tea. The word bubble refers
to "bubbling", the process by which certain types of bubble teas are
made, and not the actual tapioca balls. The balls are often called
"pearls." Drinks with large pearls consumed along with the beverage
through wide straws; while drinks with small pearls are consumed through
normal straws. Bubble tea is especially popular in many East Asian and
Southeast Asian regions. -TP |

action on that day was added on
